Hence I was approached to produce a unique, modern and precisely tailored wordmark from scratch.
The central M letter was intentionally shaped to emphasize diagonals as an abstraction of recognizable architectural elements.
Triangle carrying orange accent is not there to merely fill the gap, but to add to the symbolism in two distinct ways: a) together with the left half of the M it creates a stencil-like arrow directing top right, and b) the entire mark appears as an outline of an urban planning blueprint.")

The SDR has been constructed literally from scratch. Instead of modifying an existing font, this way I was able to arrive at a consistent and distinct look. The precise curves and sharp angles are reminiscent of bent/formed steel constructions and are obviously related to engineering in style - this alone carries the story and message behind the wordmark.")

Therefore the type of surfer it attracts is more rugged and with individualistically adventurous, extreme sport type mentality.
Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach is arguably one of the most iconic images of the coast, and its shape is reflected in the logo, all the while also reminiscing of a surfboard tip. At the base of it - either a wave or shark fin, not sure. Guess we'll have to find out from up close.")

The icon uses an abstraction of Q as a visual anchor that would be easy to associate with the name, but executed in a way that suggests high-tech and sophistication. There is an added sense of third dimension to it as the ribbon-like form folds again and again to complete a circle, or square, or just something in between.")
